Routine Maintenance for Outdoor Garden Furniture

At Vrundavan Steel Industries, we manufacture heavy-duty outdoor garden swings. But even the best materials require a basic care regimen to combat the harsh Indian sun and brutal monsoon rains.

Weekly: The Micro-Clean

Brush Off: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry leaves, pollen, and dust from the swing canopy and cushions.

Bird Dropping Patrol: Acidic bird droppings will eat through powder coating and wood polish in a matter of days. Wipe them off immediately with a damp cloth.

Monthly: The Deep Wash

Soap Down: Mix a bucket of warm water with mild dish soap (never use harsh detergents). Use a sponge to gently wash the metal or wooden framework.

The Hose Down: Generously rinse the structure with a garden hose (avoid high-pressure power washers as they can strip paint and force water into sealed bearings).

Sun Dry: Ensure the furniture is exposed to direct sunlight to dry completely, preventing hidden water pooling.

Bi-Annually (Pre and Post Monsoon)

Inspect for Damage: Check the base legs and welds for any small chips in the powder coating. If you find a chip in the paint, touch it up immediately with clear nail polish or matching exterior paint to seal the raw metal from rust.

Canopy Wash: Remove the fabric canopy roof and run it through a gentle cold-water washing machine cycle to remove deeply embedded mold spores.

Lubrication: Spray WD-40 or silicone lubricant into all hinges and the primary swing bolts.

Taking 10 minutes a month will double the lifespan of your premium garden furniture.
